We are now seeking a SEND Activities Co-ordinator to join our team in Wiltshire to work with Mill Race Community Support Service and support activities for those with learning disabilities and autism. This is a part time role working 26 hours per week for a 12 month contract with the potential to extend to two years.

This is the ideal role for an individual with a QCS Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or similar) to take on an engaging role supporting adults who need assistance with an exciting range of activities. 

You’ll be playing a vital role in service users’ lives ensuring they have the skills they need whilst you build a career to be proud of. 

What’s more, although initially a 12 month contract, this position could extend to become a two year role. 

Your Role 

As a SEND Activities Co-ordinator, you will be tasked with researching and implementing activities to promote independence and choice for adults with learning disabilities or autism. 

Supporting service users to access activities and trips within the local community and beyond, you’ll encourage involvement, mutual respect and peer confidentiality. 

Additionally, you will: 

- Participate in staff meetings, appraisals and training 
- Play an active role in safeguarding activities 
- Remain alert and aware of issues and incidents concerning service users 
- Assist service users to maintain their health and hygiene 
- Collate payments 

About You 

To be considered as a SEND Activities Co-ordinator, you will need: 

- A QCS level 3 in Health and Social Care, or a suitable qualification in education/health or support care or equivalent life skills/experience 

Some experience, either paid or voluntary, of working with adults or children with a learning disability and/or autism would be advantageous, however this is not essential. 

Other organisations may call this role Project Assistant, Activities Assistant, Support Assistant, Social Care Assistant, Health and Social Care Assistant, Care Assistant, or Adult Social Care Assistant. 

This is a part time role, working 26 hours per week working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
