Relief International (RI) is a leading non-profit organisation working across 18 countries to relieve poverty, ensure well-being and advance dignity.  We specialise in fragile settings, responding to natural disasters, humanitarian crises and chronic poverty.

The Programme Development Director role is critical in bringing significant impact and opportunity of funding from DFID to RI globally. Reporting to the VP of Programme Development, you will lead the strategic planning for UK funding opportunities from the UK government, alongside forming strategic partnership with humanitarian and development actors from the private sector, and international NGO community.

Your role will be to develop and maintain constructive fundraising relationships with DFID and UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). You will ensure effective account management of these relationships in strong collaboration with other RI Country teams and internal departments.

To be successful in this role you will bring proven experience in strategic planning, programme design and proposal development for DIFD and FCO, and experience of working for or with INGOs. You will have built partnerships with relevant private sector organisations, think-tanks, academic institutions and other INGOs. Whilst this is a strategic role, it requires the candidate to take a hands-on approach to proposal development, capture planning and strategy development.

This role has a global remit that requires the candidate to be able to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
