Fundraiser (Trusts and Grants)

15 hours per week,  Permanent (job share) 

Purpose and dimension of the role:

To research, identify and recruit highvalue relationships with strategic partners.

To maintain and develop successful partnerships with supporters, specifically through securing direct grants and donations.

To research, identify and secure high value trust and grant funding opportunities in support of the Head of Fundraising. 

Know-how and experience

• Knowledge and Experience of Fundraising – Knowledge and experience of medium and large value (£50,000+) grant fundraising including prospect research, model development, bid writing and successfully securing grants. 

• Knowledge and Experience of Research – Knowledge and experience of delivering high quality research to support fundraising activities. 

• Experience of Working to and Achieving Financial Targets – Experience of contribution to management of own targets, budgets and forecasting 

• Knowledge and Experience of Networking and Prospect Development - Experience of building and maintaining a robust network of potential funders. Experience of high level relations and negotiations through face to face presentations, meetings and networking. 

• Communication and presentation skills - Proven ability to generate a positive impression of an organisation’s values, purpose and achievements in order to encourage new partnerships 

• Influencing skills – Evidence of well-developed influencing skills and the ability to persuade funders to invest. 

• Public Relations & social media – Knowledge of and expertise in public relations and the use of new media (social networks, twitter etc.) to support fundraising. 

• Operational and Strategic Planning – Able to develop overall strategy into short, medium and long term fundraising plans and to achieve financial targets. 

• Team working – Able to contribute meaningfully to the Fundraising Team and ensuring a joined up approach to stakeholder development and relationship management.

• Knowledge of government and NEET agendas for young people – a knowledge of the wider strategic and policy landscapes surrounding young people and employment would be advantageous 

Principal Accountabilities

• Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and the Fundraising Team to develop joined up approaches to grant, corporate and other areas of fundraising. 

• Working closely with the SLT to implement a structured and strategic approach to trust and grant fundraising strategies that can be rolled out as TwentyTwenty expands. 

• Working towards organisational KPIs, particularly responsible for achieving financial targets through trust and grant fundraising 

• To create, manage and attend events and opportunities to network and engage with stakeholders and funders (both existing and prospective) to support the activities of TwentyTwenty. 

• To use relationships where applicable to identify opportunities for other forms of partnership and individual support, such as work experience placement and job opportunities for our young people. 

• To take advantage of opportunities to promote the interests of TwentyTwenty by using social media to publicise its work and achievements in the pursuance of fundraising targets 
 
Key challenges - Problem solving , decision making and relationships 

• A key challenge for the Trusts and Grants Fundraiser is identifying and engaging trust and grant funders and developing positive and ongoing financial relationships with TwentyTwenty. 

• The key internal contacts are the Head of Fundraising, the Fundraising Team, the Operations Director, and the Senior Management team. 

• The main external contacts are with senior decision-makers in funders, senior contacts in local infrastructure and membership organisations and senior public sector policy and decision-makers.
