Fantastic opportunity for experienced fundraiser to help Cambridge's environment and heritage charity. Join our team and make a difference.

Cambridge Past, Present & Future is looking for an experienced fundraiser to help us increase our income from trusts and foundations, major donors and legacies.

Since 1928 we have worked to protect Cambridge’s most important landscapes. We own and care for some significant green spaces including Wandlebury Country Park and Coton Countryside Reserve. We protect historic buildings and conservation areas and we own one of the UKs oldest windmills, one of Cambridge’s oldest buildings and an iron-age hillfort, amongst others. We inspire people of all ages to get outdoors and help them to enjoy, learn about and get involved with their local environment, heritage and culture.

This is an exciting time to join our charity, Cambridge is changing rapidly which poses threats and opportunities for the environment, heritage and quality of life. In recent years we have been working hard so that we can help to address issues such as biodiversity loss and climate change. Right now, the work of our charity is needed more than ever before and you will help us to step up and make a difference.

Committed to our causes, you will use your relationship management skills to strengthen existing funding relationships and use your research and networking skills to identify and cultivate new opportunities. Your excellent written and development skills will enable you to work with colleagues to turn their visions into compelling proposals.

You will be an effective worker with an eye for detail who can use your experience to fulfil the administrative and reporting requirements of the funds you are helping to raise.

You will use your excellent communication skills to prepare and present reports and updates about our fundraising work to a range of audiences, including trustees, management team, staff and volunteers. Your knowledge of the UK fundraising sector and your CPD will ensure that we deliver an excellent donor experience.

This is a new role but you will not be starting from scratch, you will inherit the charity’s current contacts, donor relationships and fundraising systems and you will use your experience to help improve them over time.

Initially, you will be the charity’s only dedicated fundraiser but you will be supported in your work by the CEO, trustees, volunteers and external advisors. Our ambition is to develop a small team who can work with you to broaden the scope of our fundraising work.

You will be joining a small, friendly and committed management team where you can make a difference and your work will have an impact. You will be based in an 18th century building overlooking the beautiful Wandlebury estate.

If you believe you have the experience, skills and qualities we are looking for, we very much look forward to hearing from you.

Please note that only applications with a supporting covering letter will be considered for shortlisting.
