Speech and Language Therapist 

St Elizabeth’s Centre is a specialist Centre providing holistic care together with learning, leisure and other opportunities for adults and children with severe epilepsy, learning difficulties and complex health needs. 

Position: Speech and Language Therapist - Grade 5 
Location: St Elizabeth's Centre, Much Hadham 
Job type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 18.75 hours per week (2.5 days per week) 
Salary: £23,889 - £27,298 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience)

About the role: 

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our busy multi-disciplinary health care services team operating on our 68 acre site which is home to around 240 residential and day users of our services. Our teams work across specialist services within the Centre so the role is varied, providing professional support to service users in our adult services, college, school and children’s home. The post holder will be responsible to the Senior Speech and Language Therapist. 

The post holder will also need to provide clinical assessment, reports, therapy programmes, advice and training as an integrate recourse across the Home and School of the Centre. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will be a professional who is passionate about facilitating people to achieve their full potential and maximum independence. Essential qualification requirements include a recognized SLT Degree qualification or equivalent, license to practice and to be a registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. 

The successful candidate will be expected to have: 

- Knowledge of potential communication and dysphagia difficulties associated with the Learning Disability population. 
- Knowledge of assessment tools and a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group. 
- Knowledge of national policies and procedures. 

You will also have awareness of different approaches when working with adults and children, a good awareness of Autism, learning disability and complex communication. 

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, organisational skills, knowledge of IT and the ability to remain calm and communicate effectively.
