Fundraising Manager

Your role will be to securing income for large-scale capital investment at Stanley Halls, alongside developing relationships with statutory funders and trusts who may support programming and core running costs of the building in the future.

These funding bodies will include Arts Council England, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other voluntary sources, predominantly trusts and foundations.

You will be a self-starting and experienced fundraiser, with demonstrable success in securing major donations from institutional funders as well as a wider understanding of other income streams. Your ability to build a compelling case for support, and present this case to a range of funders in an engaging way, will be central to this role.

We are committed to returning Stanley Halls to its original use as a cultural centre and community resource; to maximising its potential to provide the diverse communities of South East London with entertainment, arts and education; and to championing the legacy of William Stanley, one of Victorian London’s most unusual and idealistic entrepreneurs, who built this unique London landmark. With your support Stanley Halls will continue to thrive and grow.

Stanley Halls is at a very exciting stage of its development, with a new Venue Director bringing a bold new artistic and strategic vision. The building is at the heart of Croydon's blossoming cultural scene, and over the next few years, we hope to play a vital role in the re-development of the area. The opportunities to build funding partnerships that help to deliver these cultural & community plans are significant.

Our ambition is to become a key performance and arts centre in South East London. We are looking to build a community of artists across a wide variety of different creative disciplines; traditional and modern; craft-based and cutting edge. Our developing performance schedule will be about promoting the very best emerging artists across all performance artforms.

Stanley Halls has secured funding from recognised funders over the past four years, including Architectural Heritage Fund, National Lottery Heritage Fund, National Lottery Community Fund , BFI, and we are also benefiting from funding from the Good Growth Fund. As we develop the venue programming and forge new artistic collaborations, alongside growing our volunteering and community outreach, we are excited by the potential for this expansion in activity to unlock future funding opportunities.
