The Microbiology Society is a membership charity for scientists interested in microbes, their effects and their practical uses. It is one of the largest microbiology societies in Europe with a worldwide membership based in universities, industry, hospitals, research institutes and schools.

The Society celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2020 and we will be launching our first fundraising campaign to celebrate this milestone. We are seeking an experienced senior fundraiser to help develop and deliver this.

This is a new role and you will take the lead on creating, developing and delivering a major gift and supporter appeals’ programme from scratch, to engage with members and encourage philanthropic giving. (There will be more emphasis on major giving than supporter appeals, in this role).

The position would best suit an experienced fundraiser who can hit the ground running. You will be creative, confident and well versed in building the case for support and converting this into major gifts and appeals to the wider membership.

This is an exciting opportunity to help create, shape and deliver a new programme of support for the Society, which will have a significant impact on its members and the important work they undertake.
