About us

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based educational charity that works to put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of people all over the world. We want more people to be able to harness digital technologies for work, to solve problems that matter to them, and to express themselves creatively.

Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed educational content and programmes that are helping millions of people learn new skills.

In October 2015, we merged with Code Club, followed in May 2017 by a second merger with the CoderDojo Foundation. Together we now represent one of the largest sustained global efforts to help young people learn about computing and digital making. You can read more about our mission, values, and goals in our 2018–2020 strategy.

The role

The work of the Raspberry Pi Foundation is supported by a wide range of individuals and organisations who donate their time and expertise, as well as providing funds to support our mission. We are now looking for an experienced Senior Fundraising and Partnerships Manager to join the Fundraising and Partnerships team.

You will work closely with the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising to develop exciting new partnerships and nurture existing relationships. You will contribute to the expansion of our portfolio, leading on developing new corporate and foundation partners from across the world, as well as scaling up our individual and digital giving.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience of fundraising in a relevant context, ideally with specific expertise in corporate partnerships and global fundraising. You will need to be highly organised and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage relationships with multiple partners.

We strive to make the Foundation a place where talented people who care about our mission can do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you’re the right person for the job, we’ll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you’ll be working with an exceptional team.

Main responsibilities

  • Proactively build and develop a pipeline of prospective donors with the goal of securing large, multi-annual donations and building meaningful long-term relationships
  • Contribute significantly to the achievement of the Foundation’s partnerships and fundraising target of raising hundreds of thousands of pounds each year
  • Support the CEO, Director of Strategic Partnerships, and leadership team to engage with donors and partners, and share the impact of our work
  • Prepare funding applications, proposals, presentations, and pitches, including budgeting and forecasting expenditure and deliverable goals as required
  • Manage multiple large-scale partnerships, monitoring, measuring, and reporting impact against agreed goals and budgets
  • Work collaboratively with programme teams across the Foundation to support a culture of effective partner and donor management, including monitoring and reporting on outcomes, expenditure, and impact
  • Monitor and share our impact and performance, preparing regular reports for donors, management, and trustees

Experience and personal attributes

You must have:

  • A passion for the mission of the Raspberry Pi Foundation
  • At least five years’ relevant experience of fundraising and evidence of securing large-scale donations from corporates, foundations and/or individuals
  • A track record of initiating high-value partnerships with individuals, corporates, foundations, and other organisations
  • Experience of developing and managing multiple large-scale partnerships
  • Significant experience of setting goals and targets, as well as monitoring, measuring, and reporting impact, against funders’ plans and budgets
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to prepare and present a compelling case for support
  • Evidence of strong skills in advocacy and networking, being highly adaptable and able to interact with a wide range of people
  • Outstanding organisational and administrative skills

Ideally you will also have:

  • Experience of working in an educational or technology-related context
  • Experience of working with large corporate foundations, high-net-worth individual giving, or leading a large-scale individual giving programme
  • Experience of working with funders and grant-giving organisations from outside the UK

Benefits

In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a range of additional benefits for all of our colleagues, including:

  • 25 days’ annual leave
  • Generous company pension scheme with 8% employer and 4% employee contributions
  • Life assurance and long-term illness insurance policy
  • Professional development fund for all employees
  • Flexible work hours as needed, to fit around family or other commitments
  • Generous parental leave policy
  • Bike-to-work scheme and season ticket loan policy
  • Regular company maker days to improve your digital making skills
  • Monthly all-staff meetings and socials
  • Fresh fruit, tea, coffee, drinks in all our offices
