We're looking for an excellent bid writer with experience of information and database management, who can help to take our small-grant fundraising to the next level, working with our friendly team in the picturesque centre of Warwick. 

The postholder will manage and develop a pipeline of potential funding applications to Trusts whose charitable interests match those of the Consort, up to the value of £10,000.  The postholder will write funding bids (supported by the Head of Development and Planning and other staff), tailoring them to the funder’s requirements and interests.  The postholder will also manage and maintain Armonico Consort’s CiviCRM database of funders and prospects, ensuring that bids are sent at the appropriate time and reporting requirements of current funders are adhered to.

Key responsibilities:

  • Researching new trusts and foundations to identify funding prospects, assisted by the Fundraising Intern
  • Working with the Head of Development and Planning to develop high-quality funding letters to Trusts and Foundations, generally up to the value of £10000, to fund our wide-ranging projects
  • Sending out letters to trusts and acting as point of contact for their responses
  • Keeping records of Trusts’ reporting requirements
  • Using Armonico Consort’s CiviCRM database software to keep records of applications sent, application deadlines, and dates when applications should be sent
  • Supporting events and concerts, working together with the Development Co-ordinator
  • Assisting the Head of Development and Planning and the Development Co-ordinator on other tasks as required

Specific tasks

  • Query CiviCRM to identify new prospects
  • Track applications to previous funders and identify dates for new applications
  • Research new trustfunding prospects
  • Maintaining the “pipeline” of Trusts based on previous application deadlines and decision dates
  • Identify which projects fit with which funders, based on project plans prepared by the Head of Development and the Artistic Director
  • Continue the process of CiviCRM data cleaning (i.e. removing duplicate records, updating contact information etc.)
  • Act as point of contact for CiviCRM queries from other staff
  • Ensure records are up to date on CiviCRM, with application and response dates and donations recorded
  • Keeping up-to-date with reporting requirements of Trusts
  • Manage the process of ensuring all Gift Aid declarations are appropriately recorded
  • Support the Head of Development and Planning in ensuring GDPR compliance
  • Assist with any other tasks as required, including helping out on concert days
