If taking on a brand new role that involves developing Shelter’s retail presence that helps to raise even more vital funds, sounds like a challenge you’d relish, here’s your chance. Join us in this key role as Partnerships Manager and we’ll provide the infrastructure, the strategy, the award-winning fundraising team and the rewards, including flexible working. All you need to bring is appropriate marketing, business development or corporate fundraising experience, a passion for the cause and a real desire to make things happen.

Our network of over 90 charity shops and boutique stores are the face of Shelter on the high street. Thousands of people donate and buy from our shops each year, helping to tackle the housing emergency through their support for Shelter. But, there is always room for more growth. That’s where you come in.

About the role
A key member of our New Partnerships team, your challenge will be to identify and secure new corporate partnerships with major retailers that generate stock donations and develop engaging new acquisition tactics and campaign ideas. We’ll also rely on you to liaise with our shop support and area management teams to create and deliver localised stock generation plans. And, when it comes to working with our Prospect Research and Retail teams to proactively develop a pipeline of opportunities for long-term stock donation partnerships, again, we’ll count on you.

About you
We’re looking for someone with an innate ability to think strategically who can bring ideas and concepts to life through written proposals and pitches. Keen to develop your career in business development and fundraising, you feel passionately about working with companies to help tackle homelessness. What’s more, you have a personable approach, the ability to build opportunities and a flair for engaging a range of stakeholders and conveying ideas succinctly and persuasively. Experience of working in retail would be useful, as would an understanding of the sustainability agenda. What is for certain is that you have a proven ability to apply commercial and financial principles to improve business performance and a genuine enthusiasm about generating support for Shelter.

Benefits
The wide range of benefits we offer include 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
