“What can I do?” is a question that many people are asking themselves. How can I make a positive impact to protect our habitats, biodiversity and climate? If you have proven experience in corporate and/or trust and foundation relationship management and are asking yourself this question, and want to work for a forward-thinking, solutions-based conservation organisation that is committed to protecting the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats, then this could be the role you are seeking.

Summary

World Land Trust (WLT) is seeking an exceptional candidate to lead its Corporate Relations team in a new post developing and managing relationships with Corporate and Trust and Foundation supporters, in a way that is supportive and recognises the value of their commitment towards the work of WLT.

Reporting to the Director of Communication & Development, the Partnerships Manager will lead, and inspire, a small, dynamic and knowledgeable team in engaging and working with our supporters to provide sustainable income streams to support WLT’s work.

Working with WLT

WLT is based in the UK and is unique within the conservation world. The Trust has grown from small beginnings, saving critically threatened forest in Belize, to become an internationally respected conservation organisation with a proven track record of more than 30 years, working with overseas conservation NGOs on the protection of threatened habitats. WLT has developed its modus operandi without losing its vision, integrity and transparency. You will be passionate about the natural world and expected to align with the ethos and vision of WLT and become fluent in WLT’s work and its projects early on.

What you’ll be doing

The Partnerships Manager will actively support the Director of Communications & Development in developing and implementing corporate and trust and foundation strategy to engage new donors, support existing donors, and provide an effective and inclusive approach to stewardship throughout the donor journey. This will include personally managing identified accounts and working closely with other staff to develop engaging fundraising and awareness-raising campaigns to meet agreed targets, overseeing corporate fundraising activities as necessary. The manager will lead a small team, ensuring that accurate and effective systems are in place to maintain records in line with relevant legislation, guidelines and best practice, providing timely and relevant analysis to deepen our understanding of corporate donor support activity.

Who we’re looking for

You will be an excellent communicator that can demonstrate a passion and commitment to our vision, mission and values. You will be able to develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with our institutional supporters and feel confident in presenting in a way that engages people with WLT.

You will have experience of working with contact relationship databases, excellent IT skills, the ability to develop and implement systems to ensure that donors meet and uphold our standards and values, and the ability to apply your knowledge of data protection and fundraising regulations. An analytical mind with meticulous attention to detail is essential, with the ability to manage priorities across the team. Ideally, you will have hands-on experience of leading and motivating a team, combined with the practical focus of a manager.

As an employer

WLT is based in Halesworth, a charming market town on the edge of the Suffolk Heritage Coastline, in a characterful period property. As an SME employer, we can offer you a welcoming work environment with a 35-hour working week, 33 days’ annual leave, a pension scheme, life assurance, an Employee Assistance Programme and other benefits.
