We are looking for an experienced and influential individual to lead our ambitious development plans.

This is an exciting period in the Hippodrome’s history, having celebrated 120 years in 2019, and a with a renewed energy and focus around our role in a rapidly developing city. With increased artistic growth already being realised, we intend to grow our impact significantly in the coming years, with a major building project designed to position us as a cultural destination and creative campus. We now require a senior, confident, and well-connected Development specialist to boost investment, and drive our narrative. 

This senior leadership opportunity in one of the UK’s most successful cultural organisations will suit an ambitious individual with significant experience, excited about inspiring a highly skilled and equally ambitious team.

About the Role

The post-holder will oversee the Development, Corporate Development and Communications teams alongside developing and leading Birmingham Hippodrome’s Stakeholder Engagement strategy.  You will work closely with the Board of Directors and play a key role in the success of the Birmingham Hippodrome Development Board and the Capital Fundraising Committee to harness contacts and networks, and keep Trustees appraised of progress against ambitious targets.

Ideally you will be qualified in Fundraising and/or have high level relevant experience at a comparable scale within the charity sector. Experience in capital fundraising will be very highly regarded. 

You will have exemplary skills in stakeholder management and an understanding of all aspects of communications, including media relations and digital content. With a track-record of increasing engagement in arts, culture or entertainment, you will have demonstratable experience and a considerable understanding of stakeholder management at a senior level.  You will be an advocate and ambassador for our vision to create a world-class Birmingham cultural scene with the Hippodrome at centre stage.
