The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is a vibrant, international community of young musicians, actors and theatre technicians in the heart of the City of London. We produce outstanding graduates whose talents light up stages and concert platforms throughout the world.

We are looking for an experienced, confident and creative Senior Development Manager (Major Gifts) to secure major gifts and implement the institutional strategy for growing philanthropic income. The post-holder will prepare compelling case for support materials for the Development team and will proactively establish and engage with an agreed portfolio of prospects, securing significant one-off and multi-year gifts. The post-holder will work closely with the Head of Development on nurturing philanthropic relationships at the highest level and on securing transformational gifts.  The post-holder will collaborate with colleagues throughout the School on the development and delivery of fundraising projects, on the cultivation and stewardship of donors and on the engagement of influential ambassadors for fundraising.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of major gift fundraising and meeting personal income targets, as well as having excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, plus the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Experience of working with a wide variety of prospects and donors, including trusts and foundations, companies, liveries and individuals with an interest in performing arts education is essential.  Events management and line management experience is desirable.
