Deputy Executive Director, Philanthropic Relationships

Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.

We are currently seeking a Deputy Executive Director, Philanthropic Relationships to help us achieve our ambitious goals and move us closer to making every child safe, and able to reach their full potential. As a member of the senior executive team and reporting directly to the Executive Director, the new Deputy Executive Director will be integral in raising our sights and helping us achieve our ambition. Unicef UK currently secures around £10 million annually in major and principal giving, however, we believe that we can increase this income significantly with the right leadership and aspiration setting for our philanthropic partnerships team. We want to invest in the strategy, approach, capability and people that will help us realise that goal.

We wish to encourage applications from experienced senior leaders drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be a proven fundraising leader, with demonstrable experience of cultivating and delivering on philanthropic relationships at the highest level. You will have knowledge of working alongside high net worth individuals and philanthropic trusts and securing support at the seven-figure level. You must have the energy and aptitude to further enhance Unicef UK’s reputation with wide range of philanthropic supporters and their representatives and help expand this portfolio substantially. Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside a clear passion and commitment to Unicef’s mission.
