The National Lottery Community Fund is the largest community funder in the UK and is proud to award money raised by National Lottery players. At the heart of our work is the belief that when people are in the lead, communities thrive. We listen, collaborate and fund so that we can support great ideas that make good things happen.

Last year we funded over 14,000 projects and awarded £590m in grants. We are very proud that almost 60% of our grants in 2019 were awarded to new grantees. Our funding reflects our commitment to value the diversity of communities and their creativity. We support charities, community groups, and people with great ideas – local or national, large or small. As people and communities start to recover from the Covid-19 crisis, our funding will provide crucial support to build and maintain strong communities and networks.

We are looking for an inspirational new Chief Executive who will place people at the centre of our work, encouraging collaboration and innovation, both internally and externally – helping us to continue to fund great ideas, as we have done for the last 25 years.

You will lead and inspire around 1000 colleagues, supporting projects with people and communities at the heart. You will work with stakeholders in communities, civil society, government, devolved administrations and in the private sector to promote the impact of National Lottery funding across the UK, and our role in an international context.

With a strong leadership background in civil society, public service, government or business, you have experience of delivering positive change in an organisation of significant scale and complexity and a broad and deep understanding of charities, community groups and voluntary organisations.

A skilled networker, you’ll be an impactful and approachable leader, with a passion for empowering communities.

This is a rewarding and unique opportunity to lead an organisation that enables people and communities to do extraordinary things.
