Age UK's award-winning Individual Marketing team is currently recruiting for a Direct Marketing Manager to join our Loyalty sub-team. This role is responsible for ensuring our existing supporters are retained and grow over time. This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until 30 October 2024, covering an internal secondment.

As Direct Marketing Manager, you will report to the Loyalty team's Senior Direct Marketing Manager, leading the day-to-day operations of digital retention, SMS retention and In Memory programmes, including the line management of two Direct Marketing Executives.

The fundamentals of this role include delivering successful direct marketing campaigns across a variety of channels, ensuring existing donors are satisfied with the service provided, developing a high-performing team and managing sections of the Loyalty budget.

We're looking for someone with proven experience in direct marketing and budgeting. It's important to us that you are an organised person with exemplary communication skills that takes pride in the output of your work.

This is an exciting time to join, as you'll help maximise the value of our long-term relationships with individual supporters. You'll increase engagement and grow loyalty across the supporter base.

This role offers hybrid working between home and London (EC3N 2LB). We ask that you attend the office every Thursday with the rest of the Individual Marketing team.

Must haves:

  • Can demonstrate a solid foundation of experience within the Direct Marketing Discipline.
  • Proven successful experience of managing large complex direct marketing budgets and campaigns.
  • Proven strategic and financial planning experience.
  • Experience of analysing and reporting on the performance of Direct Marketing campaigns.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Highly organised and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Experience of using databases for reporting.
  • Ability to critically assess concepts and copy.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Additional Information

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until 30 October 2024.

This role offers hybrid working, with the Individual Marketing team attending the London office weekly on Thursdays.
