Change Please is an award-winning social enterprise founded to address the growing rise of homelessness throughout the UK.

The average Londoner treats themselves to two cups every single day. Demand is rising – by the end of the decade the number of UK coffee outlets is set to hit 21,000, creating over 100,000 jobs. Despite this, the industry is facing a huge skills shortage, not just in the UK, but around the world.

Are you thinking what we’re thinking?

If the homeless community addressed this shortage - homelessness could become a thing of the past. Change Please is empowering the homeless community by training them to be baristas. We provide full barista training, jobs paying London Living Wage and support with housing, bank accounts and mental wellbeing.

We're a social enterprise staffed by the homeless, to help the homeless, because really good coffee doesn't just taste good - it does good too.

Beyond our social mission, some recent successes:

  • Launched with David Lloyd Leisure centres in over 100 locations
  • Coffee contracts with three new major contract caterers
  • Launching of new retail sites with Halifax and Transport for London
  • Launching in Manchester with WeWork and supported by Mayor’s Office in Manchester
  • Featured on Comic Relief 2019
  • Supported by Mayor of London and visited in February 2019
  • Great Taste Awards winner
  • Launched Training Academy
  • Change Please Australia, Change Please Foundation and Change Please USA launched
  • Richard Branson’s Startup of the year 2018
  • Quality Food Award Winner 2018
  • WeWork Creator Global Finalist 2018

CoronaVirus

The need for our work is even more important after the effects of CoronaVirus. We have rebuilt after a difficult period with a renewed energy to achieve our mission.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join us and help with our fundraising efforts so that we can develop new activity and achieve our mission.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Impact and Fundraising, this is a vital role to support the growth of Change Please.

Much of the role will consist of writing excellent fundraising bids, managing and developing relationships with funders, managing and planning funding strategy, monitoring and reporting. We also have a team of freelance fundraisers who we call upon to support with writing new bids.

We are also diversifying our funding base to include individual, corporate and major giving so are keen to hear from people with experience of this as well.
