Trusts and Foundations Officer

We are a leading UK charity and expert voice for children with cancer and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trusts, Foundations and Grants fundraiser to join our fundraising team.

This is a new role and the first time we have had a role exclusively devoted to Trusts and Grants Fundraising. We’re looking for someone to develop and implement a Trusts and Grants strategy and grow our income from this stream, developing compelling funding proposals and building relationships with grant funders.

Our work

Each week in the UK and Ireland, more than 30 children are diagnosed with cancer. Our network of dedicated professional members work together in treatment, care and research to help shape a future where all children with cancer survive and live happy, healthy and independent lives.

We fund and support innovative world-class research and collaborate, both nationally and internationally, to drive forward improvements in childhood cancer. Our award-winning information resources help lessen the anxiety, stress and loneliness commonly felt by families, giving support throughout the cancer journey.

Main purpose of the role

This new role with support the Head of Fundraising to develop a Trust and Grants strategy and develop and manage a portfolio of new trust and grant income. The role will be responsible for maximising income from charitable trusts and foundations for projects and core work, building and maintaining good relationships with funders and managing our trust and grant fundraising activity.

This role is offered as 0.5FTE (19 hours per week), initially on an 18 month fixed term contract with possibility of extension subject to available funding. The role can be home working, based anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel to our office in Leicester once COVID restrictions allow.
