This is an exciting opportunity to take forward our trust and foundations fundraising, which currently accounts for more than 50 per cent of our income. Building on past success, you will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to take a lead and oversight of researching and submitting bids, and managing all related reporting and administration. You will work collaboratively with others as well as on your own initiative. Your work will play a key role in enabling our mission to help unlock lasting freedom among women who have survived trafficking, exploitation and
other forms of violence.

Reporting to: Head of Fundraising and Communications
An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken. Due to the nature of the work, this post is for women only.

Job description and person specification
We’re looking for a confident, efficient and experienced trusts and foundations fundraising professional to support with researching, preparing, submitting and reporting on grant funding applications to trusts, foundations and statutory agencies.
You should have at least two years’ solid experience. You would be working alongside our Head of Fundraising and Communications but would be expected to take initiative to plan your own time and help drive forward this area of our fundraising. Your work will play a significant part in ensuring women who have survived trafficking and other forms of violence can recover, and move forward to build lives that are safe and free.

Key tasks
● Researching and identifying external funding opportunities that meet Ella’s’ priorities and are in line with Ella’s fundraising strategy.
● Collaborating with others to determine needs and produce information to be used for grants.
● Writing and submitting bids.
● Supporting the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of grant funding applications and bids.
● Grant administration.
● Preparing and delivering funding briefings to Senior Management Team on current funding opportunities.
● Keeping relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, providing ample time to gather relevant information.
● Initiating and maintaining relationships with funding providers and networking as required.


Additional tasks
● To undertake such tasks as requested by the Head of Fundraising and Communications, and Co-Director.
● Strategic input as required.
● To attend meetings as required, and represent the work of Ella's with integrity.
● Understand and comply with all Ella’s’ policies including but not limited to our Safeguarding Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Data Protection and Confidentiality.

Person specification

Essential skills and experience

● Proven success in grants and trusts fundraising (including at least two years’ experience in a paid role).
● Initiative, and ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
● Able to work well with others.
● Excellent people and in personcommunication skills.
● A working knowledge of monitoring and evaluation.
● Grant administration.
● Excellent written communication skills.
● Organisational skills.
● IT skills and the ability to learn quickly.

Desirable skills and experience

● Statutory fundraising.
● Experience of using online funding and-tendering portals.
● Experience of working with funders in the anti-trafficking/VAWG sector.
● An understanding of issues surrounding sexual exploitation and trafficking.
● CRM experience.
● Experience of working in a small team.
● IT skills suitable for the role, in particular Microsoft Word, Google Drive and Gmail.
