With a focus on individual donors and corporate giving, this role is critical to our fundraising success.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Officer plays a critical role in our effort to meet and exceed our ambitious annual fundraising goals, set at just over £400,000 for the current financial year (commenced 1st July 2021). The post holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day management and implementation of our individual giving and corporate partnerships plans, as well as being a contributor to fundraising through other sources (for example, trusts/foundations and events). Generating income and new sources of support for our work is central to the role, as is nurturing and developing our partnerships with existing funders and supporters.

We are looking for an inspiring, passionate individual who relishes building and maintaining relationships. Your experience is likely to come from working in a fundraising role in another charity or from working in either a Corporate Social Responsibility or direct sales role in a commercial setting. You will bring a strategic approach and enjoy being part of a small, passionate team committed to growing our work.

Facing History and Ourselves is an Equal Opportunity Employer and proudly values diversity. Based on the current profile of our workforce and our commitment to being a diverse and inclusive workplace, which we believe makes an organisation more effective, we particularly welcome applications from people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, people living with a disability and people from the LGBTQ+ community.
