Individual Giving Officer

A chance to join Galapagos Conservation Trust's dedicated team to support conservation of one of the most unique and ecologically important, but vulnerable, areas in the world, the Galapagos Islands. With over 25 years of experience, Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) partners with Ecuadorian authorities, NGOs, local communities and leading researchers both in Galapagos and the UK to support impactful conservation programmes and deliver community outreach across the Archipelago.

Individual Giving makes up over a third of GCT's unrestricted annual income and includes income from members and supporters through regular donations, annual appeals, legacies and major gifts. You will join us at an exciting time as we expand our team and ambitions. Working closely with our Head of Fundraising & Communications, you will provide a high level of support for GCT’s members and supporters, ensuring an excellent donor experience which includes administration of our membership subscriptions and cultivation of current members and other donors.

You will also support our legacy giving and our events which aim to grow the Trust’s income, supporters and profile.  You will manage some corporate relationships, including our tour operator partners.  This exciting and varied role will give you an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of different aspects of fundraising.

What you’ll deliver

• High level administrative support for our members and supporters.
• Management of relationships with our tour operators and small corporates, building opportunities for donor recruitment and income.
• Strong support to the Head of Fundraising & Communications to help deliver our Individual Giving strategy.  This will include work to increase our donor base and income from existing supporters.
• Support other fundraising where needed, such as major gifts.

Work experience and skills

• Experience of working within fundraising, particularly within individual giving/membership. 
• Technical skills in CRM databases, reporting and analysis.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly excel.
• Experience of working within a small team.
• Experience of SubscriberCRM (desirable).
• Experience of working in a customer service role (desirable).
• Knowledge of charity regulations, for example, Gift Aid, data protection and privacy (desirable).
• Experience of Office 365 (desirable).
