This is a fabulous new Head of Development role, with flexible home/office working, responsible for securing the income and resources needed to make group B Strep history. A key member of the charity’s management team, this person will be donor-focused, with personal expertise in trusts, foundations, corporate and philanthropic giving.

If you have an excellent track record and are now looking to broaden your experience by heading up fundraising within a small charity, this could be for you.

The role is a mix of strategic and hands-on. You will design and develop a fundraising strategy that supports the charity’s strategy. You will lead on the strategy’s implementation, building on our current fundraising activities, and looking to grow our income via trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate supporters and individual giving.

The cause

Group B Strep (GBS) is a leading cause of meningitis and sepsis in babies. In the UK, every week fifteen babies develop GBS infection, one baby dies, and another survives with disability. Most of these infections could and should be prevented, and the charity works to make that happen.

The candidate

We are keen to welcome an experienced candidate, who has a proven track record - ideally within health charities - in securing four- and five-figure grants and donations, and has excellent leadership skills.

If this is you, and you’re a confident communicator, with well-developed interpersonal skills, a strong sense of integrity, outstanding organisational skills and want to find out more, click here for the detailed job description.

The details

The annual salary will be £40,000-£45,000 (FTE), and could be part-time (minimum 3 days a week) or full-time.

We expect this to be mostly a working from home role, with the requirement for some travel, including to the charity’s Haywards Heath office and to meet donors and potential donors.

The application process

The closing date for completed applications is midnight on Sunday, 12 December 2021.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role further, please contact Jane Plumb, CEO at Group B Strep Support.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
