Isabel Hospice was founded in 1982 and since then has been committed to delivering outstanding palliative care across Eastern Hertfordshire either in the patient’s home, our In-Patient Unit, or for wellbeing and rehabilitation at our Living Well Hubs.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised, creative and dynamic individual to run our Challenge & Events programme. Our varied events portfolio will offer a real chance for the right person to drive real change/success in the type of events we offer, and lead on, and create exciting new live and virtual events to engage our audience.

You role:

  • To plan, lead and deliver a successful portfolio of Isabel and Challenge (3rd party) Events, including runs, walks, swims, golf days and much more.
  • To provide excellent stewardship, top class event management and memorable experiences for our supporters.
  • To manage events budgets and be responsible for achieving targets and working to KPIs
  • To be innovative, brave and always looking for the next new thing
  • To work as part of a successful and enthusiastic team of fundraisers that are passionate about the charity and work together to achieve success
  • Able to use your own initiative and make decisions that will benefit our event supporters.
  • A great people person able to secure event partnerships and sponsorship opportunities to improve ROI.
  • A multitasker you will be able to manage event management requirements with ongoing stewardship of our 3rd party eventers on a day to day basis.

Person specification:

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a fundraising team
  • Confident, motivated & highly skilled in event management
  • An excellent and innovative fundraiser
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Charity databases
  • Experience of successfully managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience of running charity events (ideally sports events)
  • Experience of managing events budgets
  • Strong administrative skills (written and numerical)
  • Digitally savvy with knowledge of event platforms and portals.
  • Car and driving license essential
