Our Leadership Giving team is looking for an outstanding major gifts fundraiser to join our ambitious and friendly team.

It’s an exciting time to join Maggie’s, support from generous individuals and private family foundations ensured that we could continue to support people with cancer throughout the pandemic.

Now, the need for our unique programme of cancer support and award winning centres is greater than ever, and we have ambitious plans for growth with new centres planned across the UK.

This role will play a crucial part in helping Maggie’s to grow and will lead the development of our leadership giving programme in the north of England and Wales, where there are eight established Maggie’s centres. 

We are looking for a talented, passionate and experienced individual who is excited about the opportunity to build on Maggie’s strong track record in leadership giving in a region with significant potential.

This is a key role within a team of four leadership giving specialists working alongside our CEO, Laura Lee on revenue and capital priorities for Maggie’s.

The role is responsible for driving significant income growth through sharing Maggie’s regional and national proposition to meet ambitious but achievable targets. 

The post holder will have considerable experience of developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including donor, influencers, board members and internal senior staff.

You will have proven success in soliciting six and seven figure donations, an specialist understanding of the principles of successful major gift fundraising and an innovative approach to involving and engaging supporters.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent interpersonal, influencing and networking skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others in all written and verbal communication.

Reporting to the Head of Leadership & Major Gifts, this role has a high degree of flexibility and autonomy and will suit someone who thrives on creativity and proactive cultivation.

This is a home-based role with travel across the region and occasional travel to London required. Given the nature of this role we are able to consider candidates from various locations in the north of England.
