My Death, My Decision are seeking a dynamic and imaginative fundraiser, possibly with experience of fundraising for an issue or cause with vocal opposition, to write a fundraising strategy to take us through the next four important years.

My Death, My Decision is a grassroots, not-for-profit campaign group that seeks a change in the law to allow mentally competent people who are terminally ill or suffering from incurable conditions the choice of a safe, legal, compassionate assisted death.

Almost 90% of the public and more than half of doctors want the law to change.

My Death, My Decision is one of the leading assisted dying campaign organisations in England and Wales and we are growing rapidly. Largely volunteer run, MDMD is funded by the generosity of its members and supporters through subscriptions, donations, legacies and appeals.

Our aim is to campaign until assisted dying has been achieved, with similar safeguards and eligibility criteria as Spain and Canada. With our main objective being law change, charitable status isn’t possible.

The MDMD Board is looking to develop a fundraising strategy that will enable us to campaign effectively, make our voice heard in Parliament and remain sustainable until the law is reformed. There is potential for this project to develop into an ongoing appointment to help us to implement the strategy. Evidence of past and recent success in enabling organisations to fundraise to grow, both in reach and financially, is necessary. Much of our work is done remotely but easy access to London is advantageous.

Our Board is gender balanced and we are highly committed to diversity for the advantages it brings.
