The vacancy

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Trusts Officer. Is that you?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our high performing Trusts and Statutory team as a Senior Trusts Officer, with a specific focus on engagement strategies to strengthen relationships with leading trusts and foundations.

Maximising the value and contribution of our funders is fundamental to Parkinson’s UK delivering the impact we want to see for people affected by Parkinson's. Building networks, understanding what motivates our supporters, and aligning our programmes to their grantmaking strategies is key to our growth plans for Major Gifts. Our Major Gifts and Special Events function are a dynamic and high-performing team. We have a well established programme raising between £5 - £7million a year across the department to fund our vital work but big ambitions to grow that further by 2024.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with an established portfolio of five and six figure trust donors to help significantly grow the income over the coming years. You will coordinate trust fundraising activity, identifying compelling project propositions, and write high quality proposals and reports in collaboration with colleagues across the charity.

As well as excellent written communications, key to success will be creating new opportunities to engage donors through events and bespoke content, and making new connections with the Parkinson’s community.

What you’ll do

  • Cultivate strong working relationships with a portfolio of trusts and foundations, increasing their involvement and engagement with the charity’s work.
  • Create compelling proposals and reports for high- and mid-value funders, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term value of your portfolio.
  • Championing ways of working with the Parkinson’s community to enhance our fundraising approaches - including proposal development, donor updates, funder pitches and stewardship
  • Lead on the team’s trust donor engagement strategies including the creation of bespoke content, collateral and targeted events, also being a strategic theme lead for the team.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience of leading successful five- and six-figure fundraising from major trusts and foundations.
  • Ability to work effectively with external people including senior decision-makers, influencing them to support new projects through proposals, meetings, site visits.
  • Understanding of the needs of the Parkinson’s community and strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
  • Demonstrable expertise in the UK trust fundraising environment and technical requirements of trusts and statutory fundraising, e.g. bid-writing, budgeting, activity and outcomes reporting.

Sounds like you? We would love to hear from you.

We welcome applications from people from all sections of the community, irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief. We actively encourage people with Parkinson's to apply.

Closing date: 26 January 2022

Interviews will be held 3 February 2022

As well as flexible working hours, this role is offered on a flexible contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home, on an agreed working pattern.  You will be required to cover your own travel expenses to the office.
