Are you an experienced and adventurous Fundraising Officer?  Are you looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the UK's most experienced educational charity specialising in overseas volunteering for school-leavers?

Project Trust is an educational charity based on the Hebridean Isle of Coll.  Since 1967 we have sent over 7000 Volunteers to Africa, Asia and the Americas to a wide range of long-term volunteering projects including teaching, social care work, outdoor education and community development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Fundraising Officer to join the Fundraising Team to play a key role in the development and implementation of Project Trust’s fundraising activities.  A central element of this post is to implement the fundraising strategy and take a lead role in maximising core and restricted income from charitable trusts, grants and statutory funders.  The successful applicant will have a proven track record in securing substantial funding from a variety of funders and achieving or exceeding targets.

The role is based in the Project Trust office on the Isle of Coll.

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • Secure income from grants, trusts and statutory funders
  • Build on existing relationships with key funders and cultivate new relationships
  • Research new funding opportunities
  • Develop and submit funding applications
  • Write reports and keep funders informed of the positive impact of their support

Essential skills & experience include:

  • Demonstrable track record in securing funding against targets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning and organisational skills

Closing date for applications is 6 October 2019.  Interviews to take place mid-October in Glasgow and thereafter on the Isle of Coll.
