About us
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based educational charity working to put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of people all over the world. We want more people to be able to harness digital technologies for work, to solve problems that matter to them, and to express themselves creatively.

Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed educational content and programmes that are helping millions of people learn new knowledge and skills.

Through Code Club and CoderDojo, we support the world’s largest networks of free computing clubs for young people. Tens of thousands of educators have taken our online courses, and millions of people use our free online learning resources. We are part of a consortium that has been awarded £82m in government funding to train computing teachers in every school in England.

We are at the forefront of the global movement to help young people learn about computing and digital making. You can read more about our mission, values, and goals in our 2018–2020 strategy.

The role

Our work is supported by a wide range of individuals and organisations who donate their time,  expertise and funds to support our mission. We work hard to ensure that we build long-term relationships with our funding partners, providing them with the information they need and helping them understand the impact that we are able to achieve with their support.

We are now looking for a Grant Manager to join our Partnerships and Fundraising team. Your role will be to manage the Foundation’s relationships with a portfolio of trust, foundation, and corporate partners that support our work. You will work closely with our programme and operational teams to track performance and expenditure. You will produce high-quality reports and case studies that bring our mission to life, and you’ll also curate visits and events in order to make sure that our partners have opportunities to see the impact of our work for themselves.

The ideal candidate will have three years’ experience of managing grants in a relevant context, with specific expertise of grant application and report writing, budgeting, and impact measurement. You will need to be highly organised and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage relationships with multiple partners.

We strive to make the Foundation a place where talented people who care about our mission can do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you’re the right person for the job, we’ll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you’ll be working with an exceptional team.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of trust, foundation, and grant supporters to cultivate strong, productive, and long-lasting partnerships

  • Support the development of persuasive funding proposals to attract donations from new and existing supporters

  • Establish and maintain appropriate metrics, monitor income and expenditure, and regularly communicate progress with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Prepare monitoring and evaluation plans for large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects

  • Maintain accurate financial records and budgets for all grants

  • Monitor data gathering to enable accurate performance/impact evaluation and reporting

  • Evaluate funded projects, working across teams to prepare reports against agreed goals

  • Monitor performance, including preparing regular partnership and fundraising reports about the progress of grants and deliverables for the Director of Strategic Partnerships and other senior managers

  • Work with the Partnerships team to keep our application, grant management, and reporting pipeline up-to-date and accurate on our CRM

Experience and personal attributes

You should be:

  • A proven track record of project-managing funded programmes and partnerships

  • Excellent written English and experience of writing compelling funding applications and impact reports

  • Experience of monitoring, measuring, and reporting impact, and of forecasting against funders’ plans and budgets

  • Excellent numeracy and budgetary management skills, and proficiency in using Excel or an equivalent

  • Outstanding organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

You will ideally have experience of:

  • Using Salesforce in your work

  • Working with funders and grant-giving organisations from outside the UK
