Richmond Advice and Information on Disability (Richmond AID) is an organisation of disabled people, working to improve access, choice, quality of life and independence for disabled people in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and surrounding areas. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated person to join our team.

About Richmond AID:

Richmond AID provide a range of services including our benefits advice, money advice and information navigation service, a range of peer network social activities, counselling service, Spade gardening service, job club and much more. We have over 60 volunteers and we currently provide services in Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow boroughs. We support more than 2000 people each year and it continues to grow. The charity has an excellent reputation and enjoys strong support from the communities it serves.

The Fundraising Officer Role:

Closing Date: 5pm on Tuesday 24th March 2020

Hours: Part-time 21 hours per week. Flexible working hours  considered.

As an independent charity the Fundraising Officer role plays a vital role in securing the necessary funds to run all the services provided by Richmond AID. We now need a skilled and motivated Fundraiser to work with the Chief Executive, to assist in the expansion and development of income generation across existing and new fundraising areas.

This is a career development opportunity and you are likely to have been working for a small to medium sized charity with experience in a broad range of fundraising activities, including grants, individual giving and events and the ambition to expand your experience and take on greater responsibility. 

You will be pro-active with good marketing, writing and presentation skills.  As part of the role you will be expected to manage the volunteers who organise our fundraising events.

The expectation is that this post will be cost-neutral as a minimum within the first year, building to five times salary in new income in subsequent years. This is a new role for the charity.

Richmond AID offer 25 days annual leave plus eight bank holidays pro rata. Normal office hours are 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Fridays. You will be based at our offices in the Disability Action and Advice Centre, 4 Waldegrave Road, Teddington, TW11 8HT but may need to work from other locations as needed.
