Development Director
Magdalen College, Oxford
Competitive Salary & Benefits (inclusive of a discretionary housing allowance, at present £15,000 per annum)
Based in Oxford, UK
Full Time

With a remarkable record of achievement from Fellows, students and alumni, Magdalen College is a truly special place.

As one of the pre-eminent Oxford Colleges, Magdalen upholds great traditions, and is home to ancient buildings and beautiful grounds.  While celebrating its rich history, the College also has a very modern and progressive outlook in student and research activities, and external engagement.

A rare opportunity has arisen to contribute to the continued success of this distinguished College.  As a key role for Magdalen, the Development Director will build on the existing platform and operations for fundraising and alumni engagement, to drive further philanthropic support. With essential projects identified for student support, research, and academic Fellowships, as well as a major fundraising campaign, the College is poised to take this next step in its evolution.

Educated to undergraduate degree level or the equivalent, you will inspire and lead a large and high-performing team of fundraising and alumni relations professionals, and work very closely with the President, Fellows and alumni to engage further and significant support for the College.  Key to your success in this demanding role will be your significant experience of cultivating and stewarding senior-level relationships with existing and prospective supporters, to facilitate high-level giving.  Of equal importance, is the ability to quickly gain the support of the Fellowship and key alumni of the College.  With an entrepreneurial spirit and enterprising mindset, you will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and swiftly demonstrate these to gain the trust and confidence of those around you in this intellectually engaging and stimulating community.

If you enjoy operating at this senior and strategic level, and are ready for an exciting new challenge like this, we’d like to hear from you.
