We have a fantastic opportunity for an Innovative Marketing Executive to join our team at the RSPCA. You will support the Senior Legacy Marketing Executive to develop and manage multiple direct marketing activities aimed at converting prospects to commit to leaving a Legacy gift and communicate with those already committed, to maintain their decision.

The RSPCA is the largest Animal Welfare charity in the UK.  Every year thousands of animals suffer from neglect, cruelty and abuse. The RSPCA is dedicated to the prevention of suffering to all animals. The charity relies on donations and fundraising, without these funds from our fabulous supporters we wouldn't be able to help animals in need.

The Legacy Marketing team is responsible for activities that recruit, convert and retain supporters that will grow and maintain the Society’s largest income stream. This role is vital to developing and maintaining supporter relationships, communicating with them through mass direct marketing activities and one to one, including at events. Inspiring passion and dedication you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage existing planned campaigns and come up with new ways to ensure your supporters  feel in touch with the Charity they are planning, or are committed to, donating to in their Will. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  •  Manage and deliver Supporter Development conversion and stewardship activity through multiple channels including integrated campaign activity managing multiple campaigns at any one time. Channels include, but are not limited to, Direct Mail, Telephone, Events and Email. 

  • Manage day to day relationships with external agencies, suppliers, and internal teams and stakeholders to ensure multiple campaigns are delivered and KPIs are met. Ensure external agencies work in line with RSPCA brand and compliance specifications. Challenge under performance and propose ideas for improvement. Tackle any issues that arise, and escalate where required. 

  • Work with internal stakeholders to brief them on upcoming campaigns, develop back end processes, response handling, data tracking, reporting, agree messaging, source content and information including images and case studies. Also ensure that all campaigns are circulated with internal stakeholders for approval. 

  • Work with internal teams to source content for and produce the Legacy Marketing newsletter and other ad hoc supporter communications, including writing articles where required. 

  • Produce and present campaign results, reports and analysis within required time frame. 

  • Monitor campaign costs against budgets and maintain log for all invoices and approve invoices to an agreed limit. 

  • Respond to supporter enquiries in response to campaigns and ad hoc in writing, over the phone and face to face. Develop one to one relationships with supporters through this correspondence and other identified opportunities.

  •  Identify potential supporter case studies and develop relationships with supporters in order to develop and use them as testimonials in marketing campaigns.

  • With Senior Legacy Marketing Executive, plan and execute supporter events.

  • Obtain competitive quotes. Set up, approve, chase and manage invoices to agreed limit. Raise PO’s based on agreed campaign plans and tackle any invoicing issues that arise. 

Essentially you will have: 

  • Degree level education or equivalent (Marketing and or fundraising specific qualification e.g IOF or IDM would be desirable)

  • Experience of running direct marketing campaigns end to end (planning, target setting, creative development, data, print production, analysis) across multiple channels including Direct Mail, Telephone, Email/Digital

  • Managing customer/donor relationships

  • Running customer/supporter events

  • Budget management, including monitoring and managing expenditure and income

  • Proven experience of managing supplier and agency relationships

  • Good written and verbal  communication skills

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and suppliers

  • Numerate with strong evaluation and analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise to deliver to deadlines

  • Strong knowledge of using data in marketing

Desirably you will have:

  • Marketing and/or fundraising specific qualification e.g. IOF or
    IDM

  • Marketing in Charity environment experience

  • Relationship marketing experience
