Three-year contact

Homebased - Scotland

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a fixed-term part-time Trusts Officer to join the Fundraising Team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. Last year our volunteers and staff helped more than 85,000 people in need, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts, and their families. SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. We are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us.

About the role

As the Trusts Officer for Scotland you will work with the Regional Fundraising Manager and the branch network across Scotland to identify and apply for trusts and grants to support our charitable work.  Although home-based, you will have the opportunity of visiting branches to meet our committed and passionate volunteers whilst gaining valuable knowledge and insights into the ongoing work and projects of the charity.

About the team

As we embark on an exciting period of change within the organisation you will be working with staff and volunteers to generate income.  Line-managed by the Regional Fundraising Manager for Scotland and NI, you will also be supported by our Central Office (London) Fundraising Team.

About you

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in developing trust and grant funding support for SSAFA in Scotland.  So, a good understanding and knowledge of Scottish grant-makers and the philanthropic world is essential.

Ideally, you will bring your own contacts and networks to this role to build on the new business pipeline and research that has already been conducted. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all current funders are provided with excellent stewardship.

SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

No agencies please. Any unsolicited submissions from agencies will be accepted as a direct application from the candidate and no fees will be payable.

Interviews: 14 and 15 December [If you are invited to attend an interview you will be required to undertake an aptitude test / deliver a presentation as part of the selection process.]

SSAFA is an Equal Opportunities Employer and is committed to using the Disclosure & Barring Service.
