Income Generation Trustee

St Margaret’s is looking for new trustees to join the board who will bring their skills, talent, and enthusiasm to the heart of our organisation. We are seeking trustees who will lead support and guide us as we respond to the changing needs of our community.

This is a voluntary role.

The commitment of a trustee is approximately two meetings per quarter, plus two full days a year. Most of our meetings are currently held remotely, in the future we are hoping to meet in person for occasional meetings.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for supervising the management and administration of the charity and provides strategic leadership, counsel, and advice to the Executive Team.  Trustees will need to have the ability to balance being a critical friend, challenging and scrutinising performance, while coaching and developing the Executive Team to be the best they can be.

We are looking for a professional with senior / board level experience who has:

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering income generation strategies in a charitable setting. 
  • Drive and ambition to support the fundraising and retail teams to innovate their income generation potential.
  • Commercial acumen and an appetite for forging new business opportunities and relationships.
  • Working knowledge of how brand, stakeholder engagement and communication strategies can positively impact on income generation.
  • Solid understanding of the importance of governance, regulations, and compliance in a fundraising context and/or charity retail settings.

Term

Board members are invited to serve a four-year term and are eligible for re-appointment for one additional term.
