Job summary:

Recently named Charity of the Year by Just Giving Awards 2022, we’re committed to moving further, faster to accelerate change for everyone affected by a brain tumour. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 in the UK than any other cancer. We know that a cure can’t wait.

To accelerate us towards a world where brain tumours are defeated, we are looking for an ambitious, pro-active and collaborative Philanthropy Officer.

In this role you will play an important part in building strong and sustainable relationships with our high value supporters. This is a new role, with lots of variety, that will play a key part in the growth and development of the Philanthropy team as you support major and high value donors, family led partnerships and trusts and foundations.

Working with new and existing supporters, you’ll be in contact with these donors on a daily basis, whether it’s by email, phone or face to face. Behind the scenes you’ll also work with experienced and collaborative colleagues within the Philanthropy and Fundraising teams.

You’ll use your creative and copywriting skills to produce engaging and impactful donor-facing materials – from propositions to reports to news desk-style updates.  If you love working in a varied, fast paced role with external and internal stakeholders then this is the role for you!

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll be a real go-getter with the ambition and resilience to join our fast-paced team where you will flourish, contribute to and celebrate our success.

Your experience of developing strong relationships with supporters, clients or customers alongside your confident, clear and persuasive written and verbal communication skills will stand you in good stead to thrive in this role.

We are a collaborative and encouraging bunch, committed to making a big impact but we also have fun along the way. Our culture is exceptional and you’ll fit right in.

Oh, and there is cake. Always lots of cake.

Key accountabilities:

· Support the team to manage a portfolio of mid and high value supporters and family led partnerships

· Support the delivery of an excellent stewardship programme for these supporters to develop long term sustainable income

· Support the team with reports and analysis to continue to build and improve our work

· Write new trust applications supporting the team to send timely and relevant application

You’ll be a great fit if:

We encourage you to apply to the role even if you do not meet all of the criteria.
