Community Fundraising and Events Coordinator

Our vision at The Charity for Civil Servants is to build a supportive community in which everyone has the chance to live their life to the full. We offer practical, financial and emotional support, always listening without judgement. We are at the start of our ambitious five-year plan to double the number of people we help to over 100k a year.

This is an exciting time at the Charity as we continue to build a Fundraising Team that will develop the strategies to drive income generation over the coming five years and beyond. Community fundraising and event participation is an essential part of our fundraising strategy. It’s pivotal to our partnerships approach, working with Civil Service organisations to drive not only income, but also awareness, active engagement and long-term loyalty.

We are currently recruiting for a Community and Events Fundraising Coordinator. This role will support the development and delivery of a portfolio of digital-first fundraising products and programmes, including third party events, mass participation campaigns and “in aid of” fundraising.

In this role, you will also be responsible for delivering an excellent supporter experience with the aim of building productive long-term fundraising relationships, part of which will involve using digital platforms to reach and unite a remote audience.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience in supporting the delivery of community fundraising campaigns and third-party events. You will be a confident communicator that is proactive, taking the initiative to find the answer even if you don’t know it at first glance. You will also have a good understanding of fundraising in a virtual world using digital solutions and enjoy building strong relationships and guiding supporters through their fundraising journey.

In return, we can offer you excellent benefits including a health cash plan, life assurance, excellent pension, generous annual leave, and interest free loans for season tickets and our cycle to work scheme.

The Charity supports hybrid working. In the role, you will need to commit to a minimum of two days per week working from our Head Office in Cheam, Surrey. The remainder of the week may be worked from the office or from home, depending on your preference.

The closing date for applications is 11pm on Sunday, 17th July.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview shortly after the closing date. Our intention is to conduct interviews at our Head Office, but are happy to accommodate adjustments in order to be as inclusive as possible (please speak to us about how we can assist when invited to interview).

The Charity for Civil Servants are committed to building and developing a workforce which reflects the diversity of the civil service community that we support. We seek to ensure all job applications are treated fairly, with respect and without bias and we encourage applications from suitably experienced candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or belief, or any other factor.
