This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented fundraiser to make their mark and build The Humane League UK’s successes to end the abuse of animals raised for food. 

Working closely with the Head of Development and our Communications Department you will help grow our income and expand our pool of individual givers. A creative influencer and communicator, you will have an inclusive, consultative and adaptive approach to fundraising. You will have at least 5 years of experience in individual giving and database management.

The individual will be creative in designing and implementing successful fundraising initiatives to grow our donor base. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills: tactful, diplomatic and confident in managing and developing relationships with a diverse range of donors and volunteers. Finally, you will be highly skilled in digital fundraising and have previous experience with managing fundraising databases. This role reports to the Head of Development.
 

The key focus of the role will be:

  • Individual Giving: Working closely with the Communications Department to plan and manage online fundraising strategies to meet annual fundraising goals - planning fundraising campaigns and writing appeals; Research new growth opportunities and provide recommendations to management.

  • Donor Acquisition: Plan and implement donor acquisition strategies through digital channels.

  • Retention Program: Oversee a retention program, including stewardship and administrative correspondence with monthly donors.

  • Donor Data: Oversee donor information in our CRM Donorfy; Develop and maintain efficient systems for data protection, data entry, gift processing, and relationship management; create reports and segmentation, and provide donation-related staff training. Oversee the development and maintenance of automated email communications with donors. Working with our comms and tech departments to build donation forms and emails. 

  • Analysis: Prepare tailored reports as needed, including conclusions and recommendations for solutions, as appropriate. Assist in data analysis, particularly related to fundraising campaigns, retention rates, and quarterly/annual benchmarking.

  • Development Operations: Coordinate with the Finance and Operations Department on joint initiatives; Draft organisational policies related to fundraising issues; Research third-party vendors as needed, including negotiation of agreement and cost; Develop financial tracking procedures for Donorfy; ensure our fundraising communications are in line with the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice and GDPR compliant; oversee our Gift Aid process.
