The UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre is a world leader in biodiversity knowledge. We work with scientists and policy makers globally to place biodiversity at the heart of environment and development decision-making, to promote enlightened choices for people and the planet. With so much emphasis and importance currently being placed on mitigating against biodiversity loss, and caring for our planet, there really is no better time to join an expert, innovative and forward-thinking conservation organisation.

We are looking for a talented and passionate fundraiser who will maximise WCMC’s current trust and foundation relationships and secure new relationships to enable us to meet our five-year fundraising strategy. This role will compliment your creativity and passion for writing, with your keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills.

You will bring your proven experience in successfully raising significant grants from trusts, foundations and institutional donors to the role. As an experienced fundraiser, you will manage our current portfolio of donors ensuring funding proposals and reports are both compelling in content and timely. You will demonstrate your ingenuity and research skills in developing new prospects, that result into new donor relationships for UNEP-WCMC.

If you are looking for a rewarding and challenging post where you can impress us with your tenacity, creativity and organisational skills, we want to hear from you. To apply, please complete an application form and send it together with your CV and a short covering letter via the link on our website 3rd February 2020.

WCMC attaches great importance to addressing safeguarding and ethical considerations in all activities carried out by its staff, including where partner organisations or individuals are part of the delivery of our work. This includes children and vulnerable adults in the community who may be vulnerable to abuse. WCMC act with integrity, are transparent and expect applicants to share the same values.

Please note that this is not a UN post.

The UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) is a global Centre of excellence on biodiversity. The Centre operates as a collaboration between UN Environment Programme and the UK registered charity WCMC.  Together, we are confronting the global crisis facing nature. We do this through our unique position ensuring science, knowledge and insights shape global and national policy, and by collaborating with partners around the world to build capacity and create innovative solutions to environmental challenges. We use our position as respected custodians of powerful and trusted environmental data to create positive impact for people and nature.
