The University of Cambridge seeks an outstanding individual for the position of Development Research and Due Diligence Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented professional who ideally has an in-depth understanding of principles and ethics of both development research and due diligence for philanthropy.

What will you do?

You will have the opportunity to set strategic and operational goals for your programme. You'll provide leadership to a team of six specialists and be responsible for overseeing a robust operation focused on prospect identification, advanced wealth analysis, inclination, affinity and interests combined with rigorous philanthropic and ethical due diligence research. The role holder will be asked to provide expert due diligence advice and analysis to stakeholders across the University, in order to protect the reputation of the institution against the risk of damage from inappropriate donors.

You will also join the Prospect Development Management Team and have an opportunity to work collaboratively with the Head and the Prospect Management and Business Intelligence Manager on setting a new direction for the broader Prospect Development function at Cambridge.

Why will you fit?

If you are passionate, creative and believe in continuous improvement you will fit well in our team. We are looking for a data driven specialist with strong research and ethical underpinning to their practice. An innovator who seeks to adapt and improve processes to better suit the needs of the team and the stakeholders. A dedicated line manager who led or at least experienced a major change management programme. You thrive working in a fast-paced environment and can deal effectively with people at all levels and engender the respect of stakeholders you will work with.

Where will you work?

You will join one of the world's leading institutions as part of a dynamic and innovative team, playing a key part in the delivery of University of Cambridge's significant fundraising potential.

The Development and Alumni Relations office has an outstanding track record of engaging Cambridge's global alumni community and securing philanthropic income for the Collegiate University. It has overall responsibility for coordinating University-wide development campaigns, raising funds to support Schools, Faculties, Departments and other central University institutions. We work closely with Cambridge's 31 Colleges and our sister office, Cambridge in America, to maximise alumni engagement and fundraising with our constituencies across the globe.

This role is based in central Cambridge, however the successful candidate may need to work remotely in the first instance. This can be discussed at interview.
