As a charity, XLP is almost totally reliant on fundraised income to keep its current projects functioning and to fund new projects. At present about 20% of our income comes from Individual Donors and Events. We’re looking for an Events and Individual Giving Manager to join us in a role that is key to the continuation and development of this strong funding stream.

XLP is a youth work charity working to create positive futures for young people and at the cutting edge of tackling poverty and educational failure in inner London. We deliver holistic, long-term work with young people aged 11 to 25 in schools and estate communities.

You’ll have a proven track record in both event management and of cultivating relationships with donors and securing a variety of sized individual gifts. You’ll embrace challenge and be excited by the prospect of being able to work in a small and entrepreneurial organisation, with the chance to shape XLP’s future fundraising and profile.

We are looking for someone with lots of energy and initiative, who is motivated by results; someone with good writing skills, a committed team player who can contribute positively across a range of fundraising opportunities.

You will be joining a small but impactful team of a Director of Fundraising, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Marketing and Communications Manager.

You’ll be good at:

  • Fundraising;
  • Building relationships with emotional intelligence and empathy;
  • Being a skilled and brave strategic and project manager;
  • Developing clear, efficient and logical plans to achieve goals;
  • Being optimistic and positive;
  • Having excellent communication skills;
  • Being able to inspire confidence in donors and stakeholders;
  • Having big vision and high attention to detail;
  • Being proficient at using data and evidence to monitor KPIs and tracking trends, helping to make informed decisions;
  • Event project management, including co-ordinating with sub-contractors, programme management and budgeting.

We’re committed to providing ongoing training and support for all our staff for them to develop and thrive in their roles.

All XLP staff and volunteers have enhanced DBS disclosures and work within strict safeguarding guidelines.
