As a charity, XLP is almost totally reliant on fundraised income to keep its current projects functioning and to fund new projects. At present about 20% of our income comes from Individual Donors and Events. We’re looking for an Events and Individual Giving Manager to join us in a role that is key to the continuation and development of this strong funding stream.

XLP is a youth work charity working to create positive futures for young people and at the cutting edge of tackling poverty and educational failure in inner London. We deliver holistic, long-term work with young people aged 11 to 25 in schools and estate communities.

You’ll have a proven track record in both event management and of cultivating relationships with donors and securing a variety of sized individual gifts. You’ll embrace challenge and be excited by the prospect of being able to work in a small and entrepreneurial organisation, with the chance to shape XLP’s future fundraising and profile.

We are looking for someone with lots of energy and initiative, who is motivated by results; someone with good writing skills, a committed team player who can contribute positively across a range of fundraising opportunities.

You will be joining a small but impactful team of a Director of Fundraising, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Marketing and Communications Manager.

You’ll be good at:

  • Fundraising;
  • Building relationships with emotional intelligence and empathy;
  • Being a skilled and brave strategic and project manager;
  • Developing clear, efficient and logical plans to achieve goals;
  • Being optimistic and positive;
  • Having excellent communication skills;
  • Being able to inspire confidence in donors and stakeholders;
  • Having big vision and high attention to detail;
  • Being proficient at using data and evidence to monitor KPIs and tracking trends, helping to make informed decisions;
  • Event project management, including co-ordinating with sub-contractors, programme management and budgeting.
