Bring your individual giving, legacy and stewardship expertise to our happy team and together we will achieve fundraising success. Based central Southampton.

Your New Role in Context

YMCA has multiple income streams, the largest of which is fees charged for services, and we have long-term sustainability. We are seeking to grow our fundraised income so we can rapidly grow the programmes we offer in communities, and enable investment into our infrastructure, some of which is over 100 years old. YMCA has a successful record in many forms of fundraising, however individual giving (IG) and legacy fundraising is new to us. We wish to work in a creative and up-to-date way to maximise income available from donors. You new role will be part of an integrated fundraising and marketing team but the postholder must be able to lead on specialist technical knowledge and delivery.

Your New Role Purpose

You new role will work with the Director for Strategic Planning and the team to design, develop and deliver IG and legacy activities, including campaigns. We already work to a community development model, whereby we seek to inspire people to lead in their communities. In addition, our site at Fairthorne Manor generates a particularly strong sense of belonging for those who connect to it. You new role will be pivotal in helping us to build upon this and become “legacy minded” in our stewardship of customers, donors and other supporters. Our ultimate measure of financial success is lifetime value across all forms of engagement with YMCA.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Success at raising funds through IG and legacy
  • Experience of developing IG and legacy concepts into successful campaigns
  • Experience of using integrated stewardship and supporter journeys
  • Excellent IT skills, including Office 365
  • Education to level 6 or equivalent professional qualification / professional experience
  • Evidence of recent professional development related to IG and legacy trends

Closing date 6th February 2020.
